The Inspire Conference 2024, supported by the AX Foundation, was a remarkable success, bringing together key stakeholders and experts to discuss the future of accessibility and inclusion. Held at AX The Palace on the 10th October, the event featured a diverse lineup of speakers and panelists, each offering unique insights into how we can create a more inclusive society.
Mr. Joseph Borg, Deputy Chairperson of AX Foundation, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the educational journey of children with invisible learning abilities with a primary focus towards those on the autism spectrum. With the aim to influence change at a national level, the Foundation identifies gaps in support services and resources for these children to develop projects with key public and private organisations and NGOs to reach the highest number of individuals in need.
Mr. Antonello Gauci, CEO of Inspire Foundation, presented Inspire’s vision for the future of accessibility. The event also featured valuable contributions from prominent figures such as Hon. Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli, Hon. Graziella Galea, Shadow Minister for Inclusion, and Commissioner Rhoda Garland, who emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for all.
Panels on inclusive education and accessible digital innovation were expertly moderated by Dr. Nathalie Buhagiar and Dr. Amy Camilleri Zahra, with insights from Ms. Hope Brincat, Mr. Oliver Scicluna, and Prof. Kenneth P. Camilleri, among others. The discussions explored how accessible design and inclusive practices can improve education, employment, and everyday life for people with disabilities.
Attendees also enjoyed a chance to network and connect, and enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by The Tabloid at AX The Palace Hotel. The event concluded with a powerful reflection on accessibility from Dr. Ruth Moyse, leaving participants inspired to drive positive change in their respective fields.
A heartfelt thank you to all who attended and contributed to making this conference an unforgettable milestone in promoting inclusion and accessibility.
