On 10th January, AX Foundation inaugurated newly developed facilities at San Andrea School, continuing its commitment to fostering student development and well-being. This initiative, fully sponsored by the AX Foundation with an investment of €16,000, includes the establishment of a Nurture Room, Therapy, and Support Spaces designed to cater to students across the Early, Middle, and Senior Sectors of the school.
The event was attended by AX Foundation Chairperson Ms. Claire Zammit Xuereb and Deputy Chairperson Mr. Joseph Borg. They were welcomed by School CEO Mr. Adrian Coppini and School Director of Education Mr. Stephen Briffa, along with the School Leadership Team. Also present were Ms. Lara Muscat, the former Head of Early and Middle Sectors who spearheaded the project’s initial discussions, and Ms. Johanna Gatt, the current Head of the same sectors.
These new facilities aim to act as a bridge between home and school, offering students a safe, nurturing environment to address their individual needs with professional support. Sessions within these spaces are integrated into the school timetable for those requiring additional guidance.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Ms. Zammit Xuereb remarked, “partnering with San Andrea School to establish these facilities has been a meaningful step in our mission to support the holistic growth of students. These spaces reflect our commitment to fostering inclusive education by equipping students with the tools and support needed to excel both academically and personally.”
Mr. Coppini emphasised the importance of the initiative, stating, “the support from AX Foundation has been instrumental in creating spaces that prioritise the holistic development of our students. These facilities represent a significant milestone in advancing their well-being, enriching their overall school experience, and fostering their educational journey.”
The event concluded with a group photo by the the AX Foundation inaugural plaque, located at the entrance to the Nurture Room, symbolising the ongoing support and collaboration between the Foundation and the school.
