As part of AX Group’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement, employees from across various divisions including AX Hotels, AX Construction and AX Care volunteered their time for a Sports Day event at Hilltop Gardens in Naxxar. This initiative focused on promoting active aging, bringing together residents from both Hilltop Retirement Village and Simblija Care Home in a safe environment, together with AX Group volunteers for a day of physical activity, refreshments, and a shared sense of community.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from both residents and volunteers, who engaged in a variety of games and interactive hands-on activities. A standout moment of the day was the Revive Physiotherapy and Aquatic Centre team’s launch of a taster session for the new falls prevention program being added to the list of services, highlighting the critical importance of health and safety for older adults. The pleasant weather contributed to the positive atmosphere, making the outdoor activities even more enjoyable. The importance of giving back to the community, fostering active lifestyles for older adults, and building stronger bonds was a key focus of the day.

AX Care’s Director Ms. Claire Zammit Xuereb and General Manager Ms. Natasha Azzopardi, were present to show their support and be part of such a heartwarming event, which concluded with a celebratory ceremony where participants were awarded medals to recognise their involvement and enthusiasm throughout the day.

This Sports Day highlights AX Group’s commitment to community support and the well-being of seniors, making a positive impact through the dedication of its volunteers. The success of the event stands as a testament to the power of teamwork and the importance of promoting a vibrant, active lifestyle for older adults.
